TASHIN SINGH
Originally from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, Tashin Singh began his storytelling career in journalism, graduating from Stellenbosch University.
He then went on to work in video and photojournalism before transitioning into documentary filmmaking in Cape Town, where he served as an edit producer and scriptwriter.
Largely self-taught in his early development, he later pursued formal training in the United Kingdom, completing an MA in Filmmaking at the London Film School.
Throughout his time there, he worked across multiple areas of production, deepening his technical and creative understanding in service of his primary focus as a writer and director.
He recently produced a London Film School graduation short in Qatar and also served as director of photography on another project.
Singh concluded his studies with his own graduation film, Sugarcane, Burning, shot in his home province of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, in October 2025.
He continues to write documentary scripts while developing original narrative and non-fiction projects, with a focus on visually driven, socially grounded storytelling.
